IMANE AYISSI

IMANE AYISSI

Cameroon born, hailing from a family of artists and athletes, Imane Ayissi started dancing in his youth for Ballet National du Cameroon. An interest in design was sparked by his mum, a former Miss Cameroon as well as his collaborations with dancers and choreographers. Imane thrust himself into Paris in the 1990s starting as a model for luxe brands such as Lanvin, Valentino and Givenchy just to name a few. This marked a turning point impelling him to start his path to becoming a Couturier.

Imane creates Haute Couture pieces made to order with some of his designs also sold in shops in South Africa, Japan and Cameroon.

Highly sensitive to environmental issues, Imane Ayissi uses primarily natural and often organic materials. The collections have been presented in Rome as part of Alta Roma and is a regular in African Fashion Weeks (Fima, Arise in Lagos etc.). However it is in Paris Haute Couture where Imane Ayissi debuts new collections.

We are pleased to share some of the Editor’s favourites from the Fall collection as well as two from the Summer collection.
